Background information
Anime originated in early 20th-century Japan and evolved into a distinct animation style known for its expressive characters, vibrant visuals, and imaginative storytelling. Influenced by manga and traditional Japanese art, anime spans genres from action and romance to sci-fi and fantasy. Its unique aesthetic—featuring large eyes, dynamic expressions, and stylized motion—has captivated audiences worldwide, making it a powerful cultural export and creative medium with global influence.
The Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo da Vinci between 1503 and 1506, is one of the most famous portraits in the world. Housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris, it depicts a woman—widely believed to be Lisa Gherardini—with an enigmatic smile and calm expression. The painting is celebrated for its realistic detail, sfumato technique, and psychological depth. Its fame grew over centuries, especially after being stolen in 1911, and it remains a timeless masterpiece of Renaissance art.
